My name is Tracey Williams Gibeck and what I have learned is that there is hope in recovering from the disease of addiction.
I am a Certified Arise Interventionist; an advanced certified recovery specialist to include…. Addiction and mental health, crisis de-escalation and resiliency, and trauma and resiliency. I have my bachelor’s in psychology, and I am a licensed substance use disorder counselor. Beyond all of that I am a strong woman in long term recovery from the disease of addiction. It was my own journey that fueled my passion to help families, loved ones, or anyone find hope for a better tomorrow.
Never would I have believed that the life I live today would have been possible. With over 20 years in addiction, unhealthy relationships, trauma, abuse, and losing my children, I believed that my chances for a better life was out of reach.
On my journey to becoming who I am today, I went through some of the most uncomfortable and challenging moments. The ones that required me to take a good look at myself, my beliefs, and my choices. I was asked to face my fears, get 100% honest about everything, and trust the process. I did not think anything could be worse for me than living in my addiction and the consequences that accompanied the dreadful choices I made. I was wrong. The most challenging thing I have ever done in my life is to walk back through my life, face the fear, shame, and guilt, and move through it. What I found on the other side was freedom and victory. A road that takes time and a journey inspired with hope.
I am now over 12 years clean and sober. I worked hard, set my mind, and kept it set and I have never looked back. If I continue to do things one day at a time, one moment at a time, and trusting my Higher Power (God) life stays wonderful. Everything I do is based on a spiritual belief, solid principles, and following a path of purpose. My life, my family, my children have all been restored.
This journey is about stepping out and sharing my experience of what it means to be a Warrior, to fight and to never give up. I just want to give back and bring others on a powerful journey to recovery, and to life, because it is possible. You already have the warrior living inside of you so let’s put it to work together. No two journeys are the same, but I have learned that the goal is to fight for the journey whatever it takes, finding what works for you.
Become a warrior…… let’s fight this together.
